How we work
Bermuda Social is a premium live music experience for private events, weddings and corporate functions. We combine live vocals, horns, DJ-style continuity and curated mash-ups to create an experience that feels seamless from guest arrival through to the final song. This page explains how we work, what we provide, what venues need to know, and how our performance options can be shaped around the flow of an event.
Bermuda Social is neither a traditional covers band nor a standard DJ act. We sit somewhere between live band, DJ set and curated event entertainment. We reimagine songs people know through mash-ups, remixes, live vocals and horns.
We are best suited to private events, weddings, corporate functions, gala dinners, awards nights and high-energy celebrations where the music needs to feel polished, stylish and connected to the flow of the night.
1. What we do best
Bermuda Social is designed for events where the dance floor matters.
Our focus is:
- creating a natural build across the event
- keeping music continuous through formalities and party moments
- giving guests familiar songs in a fresh way
- Bringing different generations together on the same dance floor
- combining the energy of a DJ with the presence of live musicians
2. Event types we perform at
Bermuda Social performs at:
- weddings
- corporate events
- gala dinners
- awards nights
- private parties
- brand events
- destination events
- premium venue celebrations
3. How the night usually flows
A Bermuda Social event is usually shaped around four stages:
Arrival and cocktail
Relaxed, social and stylish. Music can sit in the background or become a more interactive experience with roaming/live elements depending on the occasion.
Dinner
DJ-curated playlist to maintain atmosphere without overpowering conversation.
Formalities
Key moments such as entrance songs, speeches and first dances are often supported by our DJs, helping each transition feel smooth and considered.
Dance floor
The live band and DJ work as one, keeping the energy moving between sets rather than stopping and restarting.
4. Performance formats
Every event is different, so Bermuda Social is available in a range of line-ups. Each has been designed to suit different event sizes while delivering the signature Bermuda Social style.
Three Piece
DJ, F Vox and featured horn (Trumpet or Sax)
Four Piece
Add another featured horn player or vocalist
Five Piece
Our signature wedding and corporate lineup featuring
Female and Male vocals, DJ, Sax and trumpet.
Six - Seven Piece
Expanded lineups incorporating drums and guitar for larger events and productions.
Some performers can have dual roles depending on availability, such as DJ/sax or DJ/percussion.
5. Music Style
Bermuda Social performs well-known music with a twist. The setlist draws from pop, disco, soul, R&B, hip hop, house, EDM, pub classics and selected jazz-era material.
The style is familiar but not predictable: classic songs, current favourites, mash-ups, remixes and surprise moments designed to keep different age groups engaged. The songlist includes music across pop, 80s/90s, 70s disco/soul, R&B/hip hop, house/EDM, pub classics and Rat Pack-era jazz by request.
6. Song Requests and Client Input
Clients are welcome to suggest songs they love, songs they do not want, and the general feeling they want for the night.
Bermuda Social does not usually perform like a request band working through a fixed list song-by-song. Instead, client preferences help guide the overall direction, tone and energy of the performance.
Useful client input includes:
- favourite artists
- songs that represent the couple, company or event
- must-play songs
- do-not-play songs
- preferred genres
- the desired mood for arrival, dinner and dance floor
7. The Video Show option
The Bermuda Social Video Show is a larger-scale performance format where the live band is synchronised to a video backdrop.
It can run as a 60-minute or 90-minute show and is designed to feel bigger, faster and more visually immersive than a standard band performance. The screen becomes part of the show, displaying lyric-style visuals and supporting audience participation so guests can sing along and feel involved.
The Video Show combines:
- live vocals
- DJ-style production
- horns
- custom visual backdrops
- lyric-style screen content
- crowd participation
- high-energy party anthems
8. Venue and Production Requirements
Venue requirements depend on the event format, guest count and production level.
For standard performances, the event requires appropriate space for performers, access to power, and suitable sound and lighting. Bermuda Social can either provide sound and lighting options or work with the venue/client’s production supplier.
For the Video Show, the venue or client generally needs to provide a suitable screen or video display. The larger and more visible the screen, the greater the impact of the show.
Useful venue information includes:
- event date
- venue name
- room name
- guest count
- floorplan or stage dimensions
- access and bump-in details
- available power
- whether the venue has in-house sound
- whether the event requires microphones for speeches
- whether a screen is available for the Video Show
9. Sound, Lighting and Microphones
Sound and lighting are important parts of the Bermuda Social experience. The goal is to keep music clear, controlled and consistent across the event.
Depending on the event, Bermuda Social can assist with:
- band sound
- DJ sound
- background music
- wireless microphones for speeches
- lighting
- coordination with venue production teams
- technical specifications for external suppliers
10. Ceremony, Arrival and Enhancements
For weddings and private events, Bermuda Social can support more than just the main dance-floor set.
Possible enhancements include:
- ceremony musicians
- live vocals
- acoustic guitar
- roaming saxophone
- guest transition moments
- extended performance time
- speech microphone support
- additional sound and lighting production
The refined layout includes ceremony musicians, arrival transitions, roaming saxophone, extended performance, speech support, and scaled sound and lighting production as possible enhancements.
11. Event planning and coordination
Before the event, useful planning details include:
- event run sheet
- ceremony time
- guest arrival time
- dinner service
- speeches
- bridal party or VIP entrances
- first dance, if applicable
- dance floor start time
- venue curfew
- production or venue restrictions
- key contacts
Bermuda Social can coordinate with wedding planners, event producers, venues and AV suppliers to make sure the performance fits the schedule.
12. Locations and travel
Bermuda Social is based in Sydney and performs at events across Sydney, regional New South Wales, interstate and destination locations where suitable travel and production arrangements are available.
Known venue examples include Bennelong, Bendooley Estate, Beta Bar, Catalina, Cirq, Zest, Dunes, Centennial Homestead, AGNSW, Athol Hall, Wallalong House, Terrara House, Woodhouse, Redleaf, The Cove, Mona Farm and Jaspers Berry.

- strong dance-floor energy
- music that works across generations
- a show that feels curated rather than generic
